Impact Factors: New citation data confirm long-term impact of ChemPhysChem

The latest ISI citation data are available. ChemPhysChem has a new two-year impact factor of 3.636 (3.8% growth), and a 5-year impact factor of 3.739—one of the highest in its field (see figure)! The impact factor is a measure of the number of times an "average article" in a journal has been cited in a particular year.

Our new 5-year impact factor is based on cites in 2008 to ChemPhysChem material published in the previous five years. It provides a long-term view of the citation activity of our journal and confirms the high impact of ChemPhysChem over time. Articles published in our journal continue to be heavily cited for years.

ChemPhysChem is 3rd (out of 31 journals) in the ISI category "Physics, atomic, molecular, and chemical" and occupies position 25 (out of 113 journals) in the category "Chemistry, physical". This demostrates that ChemPhysChem is a leading international forum for physical chemistry and chemical physics. It publishes an attractive mixture of communications, articles, reviews, minireviews, highlights, and concepts. It is a sister journal to Angewandte Chemie (new 2-year impact factor: 10.879, new 5-year impact factor: 11.025) and is published on behalf of ChemPubSoc Europe.
