ADAA 2012 Research Awards

The Anxiety Disorders Association of America announces details for the 2012 Career Development Travel Awards and the Donald F. Klein Early Career Investigator Award.

All awards will be presented at the 32nd Annual Conference, April 12-15, 2012, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia.

A critical part of the ADAA mission is to support research in the areas of anxiety, stress and related disorders, and the Awards Program furthers that goal by involving researchers early in their careers with the anxiety and related disorders research community and ADAA.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT TRAVEL AWARDS - Deadline: November 15, 2011

Up to 15 awards will be given to early career professionals with a research interest in anxiety including OCD, PTSD, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, phobias, generalized anxiety disorder, anxiety and anxiety-related disorders, including basic and clinical neurobiology, psychopharmacology, anxiety comorbidities, clinical psychology, genetics, neuroimaging, epidemiology, comparative effectiveness, multicultural issues, public health, and other areas.

Award recipients must present their poster at the ADAA 32nd Annual Conference. Winners receive a $500 travel stipend and complimentary registration to the conference, where they will be paired with a mentor. Thanks to the ADAA's unique partnerships, complimentary registration to present their posters will be given to up to three award recipients to attend the ABCT annual meeting and up to 10 award recipients to attend the ACNP meeting in 2012.

DONALD F. KLEIN EARLY CAREER INVESTIGATOR AWARD

This award will be given to an early career investigator for the best original research paper on neurobiology, psychopharmacology, psychosocial treatments, or experimental psychopathology of anxiety and anxiety-related disorders. The winning paper will be presented at the ADAA Annual Conference and will be published in Depression and Anxiety, the official journal of the ADAA. This award is supported by Depression and Anxiety's publisher Wiley Blackwell.
