Author Guidelines

Online Submission and Peer Review

Naval Research Logistics is now receiving submitted manuscripts online at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/nrl .

Submit all new manuscripts online. Launch your web browser and go to http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/nrl . Check for an existing user account. If you are submitting for the first time, and you do not find an existing account, create a new account. Follow all instructions.

Naval Research Logistics has a completely digital submission, review, and production process via Manuscript Central. We therefore insist on production-quality files of all revisions of papers. If you do not follow the guidelines given below, your submission will be returned to you for modification. This will, of course, delay review and publication, so we ask that you pay careful attention at this time and we thank you for your cooperation.

FILE REQUIREMENTS Please submit your manuscript as a PDF file (with all figures and tables embedded) for reviewing purposes. Native files (LaTeX/TeX or Microsoft Word) will be requested once papers have been conditionally accepted, as well as any figure files. We prefer the submission of final figure files in .eps or .tiff formats, although figures created within LaTeX/TeX can also be used.

TABLES Tables should be submitted in LaTeX, DOC or RTF format. Do not embed tables in your text.

FIGURES To ensure the highest print quality, your figures must be submitted in TIFF format according to the following minimum resolutions:  1200 dpi (dots per inch) for black and white line art (simple bar graphs, charts, etc.)  300 dpi for halftones (black and white photographs)  600 dpi for combination halftones (photographs that also contain line art such as labeling or thin lines) Vector-based figures (e.g., figures created in Adobe Illustrator) must be submitted in EPS format (not PS). In any case there should be only one file per figure.

COLOR FIGURES In addition to the resolution guidelines above, color figures must be submitted in a CMYK colorspace. Do not submit color figures as RGB.

UNACCEPTABLE FIGURE FORMATS Do not submit figures in any of the following formats: JPG, GIF, PSD, CRD, PCT, PPT, PDF, XLS, DOC, BMP, 123 (or other Lotus formats).

Wiley's Journal Styles and EndNote
EndNote is a software product that we recommend to our journal authors to help simplify and streamline the research process. Using EndNote's bibliographic management tools, you can search bibliographic databases, build and organize your reference collection, and then instantly output your bibliography in any Wiley journal style.
Download Reference Style for this Journal : If you already use EndNote, you can download the reference style for this journal.
How to Order: To learn more about EndNote, or to purchase your own copy of EndNote, click here .
Technical Support: If you need assistance using EndNote, contact endnote@isiresearchsoft.com , or visit www.endnote.com/support .

Literature references should be indicated in text by an Arabic number in square brackets. All literature citations should be grouped together at the end of the manuscript in alphabetical order and numbered consecutively. For journal references, supply author(s), title, journal title, volume, page range, and year of publication; for unpublished material, give as much information as possible [e.g., for lectures of symposia list author(s), paper title, symposium title, sponsor, location, and date].
