Inside Cover: Polyhedral Organic Microcrystals: From Cubes to Rhombic Dodecahedra (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 48/2009)
Morphological control of high-symmetry small-molecular organic microcrystals was achieved by changing the solvent composition and precursor solubility, which substantially alter the crystal growth rate in the <100> direction relative to that in the <110> direction. In their Communication on page 9121 ff., X. H. Zhang, S. T. Lee, and co-workers describe the surfactant-assisted synthesis of microcrystals with selected shapes that range from cubes, through truncated cubes, to rhombic dodecahedra.
