Science Prize 2002 (German Stifterverband) to Klaus MüllenCongratulations to Klaus Müllen (Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, Mainz, Germany) to whom the Science Prize 2002 of the German Stifterverband (Donors' Association for the Promotion of the Sciences and Humanities) was awarded. The prize is worth 50.000 € and was presented for a successful combination of basic and applied research. Müllen was recognized for his research on pigments on the basis of perylene, terrylene, and perylene polymers which may be used in a variety of applications, such as flat-panel displays and bioassays.

Klaus Müllen has been a most valuable member of the International Advisory Board of Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics and Macromolecular Rapid Communications since 1993.
