Cover: The cover picture shows the acyl-enzyme intermediate formed between 2-azetidinone and Candida antarctica lipase B derived via docking with subsequent combined QM/MM geometry optimization. The enzyme-catalyzed ring-opening polymerization of 2-azetidinone proceeds via this intermediate. It is shown that poly(β-alanine) can be prepared by enzyme catalysis and that the ring structure of the 2-azetidinone is essential for the formation of the acyl-enzyme intermediate. Further details can be found in the article by L. W. Schwab, R. Kroon, A. J. Schouten, and K. Loos* on page 794 L. Haller and G. Fels, University of Paderborn, are acknowledged for the design of the cover.
