Anisotropic shapes with well-defined edges can be precisely reproduced using hydrogen-bonded multilayers, fabricated by a layer-by-layer approach. Computational modeling shows that the mechanical stability of the anisotropic capsules is enhanced by the sharp edges and vertices, in contrast to spherical microcapsules that undergo random buckling.
