A highly conductive surface of a polymer blend. An atomic force microscope image shows the 3-dimensional structure of an organic polymer blend with a highly efficient charge injection, as measured with an integrated conducting probe (details are given in Lal and co-workers, p. 385). The self-organized sheet structure of the polymer blend is clearly illustrated; polymer sheet edges, with an average step height of 3 nm can be seen.
