Diphenylalanine-peptide nanotubes can form well-organized spherulitic films several centimeters in size while preserving the original crystallographic structure of the nanotube, as reported on p. 1485 by Shachar Richter and co-workers. An optical microscopy image shows the early growth stages of such a film (image taken at the Scientific Photography Lab, Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel).
