Flexible Displays: Low-Power Flexible Organic Light-Emitting Diode Display Device (Adv. Mater. 31/2011)
On page 3511, Sunkook Kim, InSeo Kee, Sang Yoon Lee, and co-workers report the integration of low-temperature color filters, thin-film encapsulation, and red, green, blue organic light-emitting diode (OLED) microcavities into a display device. The device is demonstrated to be mechanically flexible, and to have low power consumption and high outdoor readability. The study offers a promising possibility for the implementation of flexible displays, with potentially important technical implications.
