Three-dimensional nanostructures exhibit superior performance for energy-storage devices. Guozhen Shen and co-workers demonstrate on p. 1479 the fabrication of 3D hierarchical GeSe2 nanostructures by using the CVD method Rinplane all-solid-state supercapacitors, which can be used to power CdSe nanowire photodetectors, by configuring them as a self-powered photodetector nanosystem.
