Synaptically connected neurons...

Synaptically connected neurons are obtained with defined position of their cell bodies and defined geometry of their arborization using polyester topographical structures. The substrates can be used several times say P. Fromherz et al. in the January 16th issue The technique will allow the creation of well defined neuronal nets that are stimulated and monitored from silicon chips (see: Adv. Mater. 2002, 14, 141-144).
