    Controlling the morphology of bimetallic complex materials by varying precursor reduction kinetics: Employing Cu2O spheres as a proof-of-concept starting material, this study demonstrates that metal/metal-oxide bimetallic bowls, rattles, and dendrites can be obtained via galvanic replacement between Cu2O and inline image, inline image, or Ru3+, respectively, under aerobic conditions. The morphological and compositional evolution of the products correlated with the precursor reduction kinetics relative to oxidation by O2 from air.

    1,3,4,6,7,9,9b-Heptaazaphenalene-2,5,8-triamine-oligomer-incorporated polymeric melon-strain layers form a carbon nitride framework that exhibits remarkable activity for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution. The framework, produced from consecutive annealing and ammonia treatments on graphitic carbon nitride, exhibits a broad absorption spectrum and provides pathways for charge separation and transport and amino active sites for electron injection to produce hydrogen.

    Porous graphitic carbon nanofibers with encapsulated Co nanoparticles (Co@CNFs) are prepared via electrospinning and subsequent annealing at a relatively low temperature (700 °C). Furthermore, urchin-like CoSe2 nanorods are epitaxially grown from the Co@CNFs via a facile hydrothermal selenation method, in which the Co nanoparticles serve as Co source and CoSe2 seeds. Their lithium storage properties are also investigated.
