    Adsorption of toluene from air at activated carbon grains is simulated by CFD methods in a 3D model of a fixed bed, which is generated by the discrete element method. The simulations are validated by literature data. The results show the wall effect and an inhomogeneous loading of the adsorbent grains, which strongly depends on the local flow profile around each single grain.

    Recycling of lithium-ion batteries is going to be a demanding task in the future. This contribution addresses the adsorptive cleaning of the exhaust gas produced during a recycling process by giving first equilibrium data for single and binary adsorption adsorption of electrolyte components onto activated carbon.

    The concept of a composite consisting of magnesium sulfate and a mesoporous polymer has been investigated for seasonal heat storage applications. The salt can be hydrated/dehydrated reversibly and the different hydration states can be observed in the respective XRD patterns. The heat release during hydration was analyzed in calorimetric experiments.

    Ein neuartiges Sensorgaskalorimeter zur simultanen Messung von Adsorptionsenthalpie und Beladung wird vorgestellt. Das kalorimetrische Messprinzip basiert auf Druckänderungen im Sensorgas infolge der Sorptionswärme. Aus der Kopplung volumetrischer und kalorimetrischer Messergebnisse lässt sich die beladungsabhängige Adsorptionsenthalpie berechnen.
