10_11/2008Cover Picture: TMS Bulk-Metallic Glasses Symposium V (Adv. Eng. Mater. 11/2008)

The Cover shows the difference in the normalized X-ray intensities between two orientations P(0)-P(90) for the sample annealed with applied uniaxial stress. In the first orientation P(0), the axis of the external stress was in the vertical direction in the image. In the second P(90) the stress axis was along the horizontal direction. The observed pattern corresponds to elliptical (instead of circular) X-ray hallo due to uniaxial anisotropy. The insert plot shows second order anisotropic structure function obtained from the 2D image. More details can be found in the article of W. Dmowski, T. Egami on page 1003.
