The nanostructures after Warm laser shock peening (WLSP) delay the relaxation of residual stress and surfaces dislocation density. These improve materials' fatigue performance for age-hardenable materials. This improvement is not only due to large compressive residual stress and high density dislocations, but also the higher stability of residual stresses, and surface strength.
