Jossey-Bass, A Wiley Brand, and the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences seek qualifed candidates for the Editor-in-Chief position for the quarterly journal, Nonprofit Management & Leadership(NML).

LAUNCHED IN 1990, NML was the first journal to bring together the best thinking and most advanced knowledge and research about the special needs, challenges, and opportunities of nonprofit organizations. NML is committed both to academic excellence and to advancing creative interaction between rigorous research and engaged practice. It is currently one of the leading journals in the field of nonprofit management.

The new editor, who will have earned significant distinction in the field of nonprofit management and leadership, will lead NML and be charged with raising its profile among researchers and practitioners. The editor must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant academic discipline and have a record as a scholar themself, have extensive experience in evaluating and working with research manuscripts and their authors, be able to work effectively with journal staff and an editorial board, and manage journal operations efficiently.

National Civic Review Honored at APEX Awards for Publishing Excellence

National Civic Review, now in its 101st year and published with the National Civic League, was recognized in the Magazines and Journals print category for titles over 32 pages in this year's APEX Awards for Publishing Excellence.

APEX 2012 Award

APEX 2012, the 24th Annual Awards for Publication Excellence, is an international competition that recognizes outstanding publications from newsletters and magazines to annual reports, brochures and Web sites. This year over 3400 entries competed in 130 categories including newsletters, magazines and journals, electronic media, websites, One-of-a-Kind Publications and more.

According to the APEX 2012 judges, “The awards were based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the success of the entry in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence.”

Helm, University of Missouri – Kansas City and Fredrik O. Andersson, University of Missouri – Kansas City, recipients of the Editors' Prize for Best Scholarly Paper.

Their award-winning paper "Beyond Taxonomy: An Empirical Validation of Social Entrepreneurship in the Nonprofit Sector" was published in Nonprofit Management and Leadership, Volume 20, Number 3, 2010.
