Police decision making
Edited by Dr Jason Roach
The ways in which the police both individually and collectively make decisions has a dominant influence on both the public and the wider criminal justice system. It’s study help us to better understand, for example, how Senior Investigation Officers’ decisions affect criminal investigations, how strategic command decisions are made, how and when police discretion is exercised, or how best to deal with ‘looters’ as seen in the recent riots in the England. To encourage the development of this burgeoning multi-disciplinary area of study, we invite original articles for a special edition of this journal.
