Process Systems Engineering is the field that encompasses the activities involved in the engineering of systems with physical, chemical, and/or biological processing operations.
Over the years, this field has developed significantly beyond its original scope and this virtual issue highlights the top 210 cited papers published in the area of Process Systems Engineering at the AIChE Journal back showcasing the research that developed the field of PSE to its current state. It should be noted that all papers except two have 46 or more citations, and they belong to the 1,500 top papers of AIChE Journal in terms of number of citations.
