Virtual Issue: Genetics of Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder which onsets throughout the lifespan. Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have shown that some of its high heritability can be attributed to common SNP variants. This virtual issue presents replication and follow-up of prior GWAS findings along with two GWAS of age at onset of the disorder. It also highlights several studies about the functional consequences of genetic variants implicated in bipolar disorder along with several studies of candidate genes. Please contact authors directly for reprints or for additional information described within the articles appearing in this issue. These virtual issue articles are freely available online.
