Cover Picture: Cell-Targeting Multifunctional Nanospheres with both Fluorescence and Magnetism (Small 5/2005)
The cover picture shows hela (human cervical carcinoma) cells that have been incubated with trifunctional nanospheres composed of CdSe/ZnS quantum dots, iron oxide nanoparticles, and folic acid (main picture: bright-field image; inset: fluorescence image). The nanospheres combine fluorescence, magnetism, and cell recognition properties. For more information, please read the Communication "Cell-Targeting Multifunctional Nanospheres with both Fluorescence and Magnetism" by D.-W. Pang, W. Zhou, and co-workers on page 506 ff.
