6.024: Small Receives an Amazing Initial Impact Factor

Yesterday, the 2006 Journal Impact Factors were announced in the ISI Journal Citation Reports. It is with the greatest of pleasure that we can announce that Small has received an initial Impact Factor of 6.024! This figure, which is the highest initial Impact Factor ever received by a journal specializing in science and technology at reduced length scales, is a tribute to all of the outstanding work that been submitted and published in our journal over the past two years, to the highest standards of reviewing that our excellent referees have carried out over this time, and to all of the colleagues and associates that have assisted us in bringing Small to the attention of the scientific community. We are extremely grateful to all of our subscribers for their support, and to all of the scientists who have recognized the quality of the work in our journal by deeming the articles worthy of citation. We will continue to strive to improve the journal further in the coming months and years, and to make good on our promise of making Small the very best forum for interdisciplinary research at the nano- and microscale.
