Editorial Team:

José Oliveira (Editor-in-Chief): José Oliveira obtained his BSc (Hons) and PhD at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. Before joining Wiley in 2001, he worked at the University of Antwerp. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Small.
Yan Li (Deputy Editor): Yan Li obtained his BSc from Tianjin University and PhD from Tsinghua University. He subsequently carried out postdoctoral studies at University of Houston and then at Wageningen University. He joined Wiley in 2012.
Guangchen Xu (Deputy Editor): Guangchen Xu obtained his BSc and PhD (Hons) from the Beijing University of Technology. He spent a year at Michigan State University as a visiting scholar. Before joining the Wiley team in Beijing in 2011, he was an Assistant Professor at Beijing University of Technology.
Eliza-Beth Lerch (Managing Editor): Eliza-Beth Lerch received her SB from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her PhD at the University of California Berkeley. She worked at the Goethe Universität Frankfurt am Main before joining Wiley in 2010.
Ana V. Almeida (Editor): Ana V. Almeida studied biology at University of Lisbon and moved to Germany in 2008 for an internship on Analytical Chemistry and Mass Spectrometry at the Konstanz University. Before joining Wiley in 2016 she earned her PhD thesis in the field of Microfluidics in the Saarland University.
Irem Bayindir-Buchhalter (Editor): Irem studied Molecular Biology and Genetics in the Middle East Technical University, Ankara. She obtained her MSc focusing on the field of embryonic and hematopoietic stem cells jointly at Heidelberg University and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), where she also worked on adipose tissue and metabolism during her PhD. She joined Wiley-VCH in 2016.
Kerstin Brachhold (Editor): Kerstin obtained her Diploma from the ESBS (Ecole Supérieure de Biotechnologie Strasbourg) in France. For the practical part of the Diploma thesis she spent nine months in North Carolina, USA. This was followed by a Ph.D. thesis, a postdoc and then a lecturer position all at the University of Cologne in Germany. Kerstin joined Wiley in 2010.
Jenna Flogeras (Editor): Jenna Flogeras obtained her BSc and MSc from the University of New Brunswick (Fredericton), Canada, where her research was in the area of inorganic chemistry. She joined Wiley in August 2016.
Jos Lenders (Editor): Jos Lenders studied chemical engineering and chemistry at Eindhoven University of Technology, in the Netherlands. There he obtained his BSc, MSc and PhD, the latter in the area of bioinspired materials synthesis. He joined Wiley-VCH in 2015.
Lulu Ma (Editor): Lulu Ma earned her B.Eng. from Beijing University of Chemical Technology and her PhD in nanotechnology from Rice University. She joined Wiley in 2015.
Anne Pfisterer (Editor): Anne Pfisterer gained her Diploma degree from the University of Mainz and her PhD from the Max Planck Institute of Polymer Research. She joined Wiley in 2012.
Ulf Scheffler (Editor): Ulf Scheffler obtained his diploma in chemistry and a PhD at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Universität Bielefeld (Germany) before joining Wiley in 2013.
Lisa Smith (Editor): Lisa Smith obtained a BASc with honours in science at the University of Melbourne, followed by postgraduate research toward a PhD in nanoparticle synthesis at the same university. She joined Wiley in 2010.
Xin Su (Editor): Xin Su received his B.Sc. from Nankai University in 2009, and his PhD from Dartmouth College in 2013. After working at the National Energy Technology Laboratory in Pittsburgh as an ORISE Postdoctoral Fellow, he joined Wiley in 2015, and is based in the Hoboken office (New Jersey, USA).
Anna Troeger (Editor): Anna Troeger received her Diploma and PhD in physical chemistry from the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg. She joined Wiley in 2013.
Jipei Yuan (Editor): Jipei Yuan obtained her PhD from the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Before joining Wiley in 2015, she worked at TU Dresden and then the Hebrew University of Jerusalem as a postdoctoral researcher.
Peter Gölitz (Founding Editor): Peter Gölitz has been the Editor-in-Chief of Angewandte Chemie since 1982. He joined the publishers in 1980 after he earned his PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Göttingen (Germany) with Armin de Meijere in 1978 and spent time as a postdoc at IBM in San José, CA (USA) and the University of Hamburg (Germany). He is the Founding Editor of Advanced Materials, Chemistry—A European Journal, ChemPhysChem, Chemistry—An Asian Journal, and ChemCatChem, among others.
Effy Wang (Administration): Effy Wang finished her education at the Liaoning Institute and Technology College and joined the materials science administrative team in 2012.
Esther Levy (Consulting Editor): Esther Levy studied at Otago University and gained a PhD from Cambridge University. She joined Wiley in 1997 and is now a Consulting Editor for Advanced Materials and Senior Commissioning Editor for Wiley’s materials, polymers, and physics publishing program in Asia. She is based in Sydney.
Christine Herth (Production Manager): Christine Herth joined Wiley in 2008 and is now the Production Manager for Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, and Small.
Sonja Hoffmann (Marketing): Sonja Hoffmann qualified as Marketing Expert at the IHK Mannheim. She joined STM Journals Marketing Department of Wiley-VCH in 2006 and is now the Marketing Manager for Materials Science, Polymer, and Physics Journals.
