Photoconducting Bragg mirrors are made by alternating layers of TiO2 nanoparticles of different size and aggregation state to create a periodic modulation of the refractive index. In this picture, a series of Bragg mirrors with different lattice constant, thus displaying different structural color, is shown with a TEM image of a cross section of a layer of TiO2 crystallites deposited on a silicon wafer in the background.
