Highly fluorescent poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) doped with ZnO quantum dots (QDs) is conveniently generated and used directly for whole-chip temperature measurements, as described by Hongkai Wu and co-workers on page 324. A model is also given to elucidate the temperature sensitivity and extremely high stability of this material by studying the bonding between the QDs and the PDMS.
