Editors

Kirsten Severing, Ph.D.

Kirsten's main responsibility as an Editor of the Macromolecular Journals are the journals Macromolecular Rapid Communications and Macromolecular Bioscience. Further responsibilities include the peer-review editing for Advanced Materials and Advanced Functional Materials.
She studied chemical engineering at the Fachhochschule Aachen before doing her Masters studies in physical chemistry at the Stockholm University. In 2005 she received her Ph.D. from the Institute for Macromolecular Chemistry at the University of Freiburg for her work on solid-state NMR investigations on liquid crystalline polymers in the group of H. Finkelmann and K. Saalwächter. Kirsten joined the team of the Macromolecular Journals in 2007.

Stefan Spiegel, Ph.D.

Stefan's main responsibilities as Editor of the Macromolecular Journals include the titles Macromolecular Chemistry & Physics, Macromolecular Materials & Engineering, Macromolecular Theory & Simulations, and Macromolecular Reaction Engineering. Further activities and responsibilities include technical and workflow questions, as well as editorial/database applications. Stefan also acts as an Associate Editor for Journal of Applied Polymer Science.
He studied chemistry at the University of Mainz, Germany, and received his Ph.D. in 1995 from the Max-Planck-Institute for Polymer Research, Mainz, for his work on solid-state NMR investigations on polymeric systems under the guidance of H.-W. Spiess. In 1997, Stefan joined the Macro team.

Sandra Kalveram, Ph.D.

Sandra is working as peer review editor for the Macromolecular Journals (Macromolecular Bioscience, Macromolecular Chemistry & Physics, Macromolecular Rapid Communications) and Advanced Materials. She studied chemistry at the University of Dortmund and obtained her PhD in 2002. Sandra joined the Macro team in 2003.

Mara Staffilani, Ph.D.

Mara received her PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands, for her studies on luminescent metal complexes for diagnostics applications. During her doctoral degree she spent two years in the research laboratories of Roche Diagnostics. In 2003 she moved to publishing as Editor of Macromolecular Chemistry & Physics and Macromolecular Bioscience. She then took on the position of Managing Editor of Biofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining journal and website in 2008. Since March 2013 Mara has joined again the Wiley polymer journals as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Applied Polymer Science and Macromolecular Chemistry & Physics.

Adam Brotchie, Ph.D.

Adam obtained his PhD from The University of Melbourne. Prior to joining Wiley in 2012 he worked at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam.

James Cook, Ph.D.

James received his B.Sc. in physics at the University of Leeds, UK in 1994 and then gained his Ph.D. in polymer physics at the same university in 1999. He had a post-doc position in physical chemistry at the University of Durham, before working as a youth worker in Sunderland, UK. He joined Wiley in 2012.

Hilary Gallagher, Ph.D.

Hilary obtained a BSc (Hons) and a PhD from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Before joining Wiley in 2011 as a trainee editor for the materials science journals, she worked at CSBP Soils and Plant Analysis Laboratory, Western Australia and at Friedrich Schiller University, Jena.

Lisa Smith, Ph.D.

Lisa obtained a BASc with honors in science at the University of Melbourne, followed by a PhD in nanoparticle synthesis and properties at the same university. She joined Wiley in 2010 to work as a technical editor on the materials science journals.

Managing Editor

Eliza-Beth Lerch, Ph.D.

Eliza-Beth received her SB from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her PhD at the University of California Berkeley. She worked at the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main before joining Wiley in 2010.

Deputy Managing Editor

Sibylle Meyer, M.A.

Sibylle's main responsibility is the management of Macromolecular Symposia. Her work also includes all aspects of the organization and supervision of copyediting and freelance work. She studied History at the University of Heidelberg, where she obtained her diploma (MA). After working as an editor for the Institute for Standardization and Documentation in Medical Laboratories, Düsseldorf, Germany, she joined the team of the Macromolecular Journals in 2002.

Journal Production Manager

Katja Kornmacher, M.A.

Katja's main responsibility is coordinating the workflows between the authors, the typesetters and the printers. The authors may know her from the E-mails with page proofs, from reminders for returning their proof corrections, and as the contact person for any kind of orders (reprints, issue copies, high-resolution PDF files), invoices, cover pictures, etc.
She studied English and Spanish literature at Heidelberg University and has been the Journal Production Manager of the Macromolecular Journals since 2002.

Administration

Inge Dittmer

Inge's main tasks - besides general support of her colleagues - include the administrative work that is incurred with manuscript submissions, reviewing procedures, and sending reminders to referees and authors. Inge joined the team of the Macromolecular Journals in 2002.

Petra Pinto

Petra's main tasks - besides general support of her colleagues - include the administrative work that is incurred with manuscript submissions, reviewing procedures, and sending reminders to referees and authors. Petra joined the team of the Macromolecular Journals in 2006.

Marketing

Sonja Hoffmann

Sonja is the Marketing Manager for Materials Science, Polymer and Physics Journals. She qualified as a “Marketing Expert” through an advanced training company. After an apprenticeship at Wiley-VCH, she worked as a Marketing Assistant and then a Marketing Executive for Books and Journals in the STM Division. She then moved to the Professional & Trade division and became a Marketing Manager before rejoining STM Journals Marketing.

Web Editor

Dietmar Reichelt

Dietmar takes care of the homepages at Wiley Online Library of the Macromolecular Journals and Plasma Processes and Polymers, as well as all other journals from the department Physics, Mathematics and Materials Science. In addition he is responsible for IT and network administration in the Berlin offices.
Dietmar studied information technology at the Technical University Dresden and joined the Macro team in 2003.
