David Peralta, Associate Editor, studied chemistry and German culture and language at the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines (BSc Chem 2006, MSc Chem 2009). There, he taught courses in general chemistry, biochemistry, and science and society while finishing his MSc degree. In 2009, he moved to Germany to do his doctoral work at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in the research group of Tobias Dick, where he discovered a mechanism for the H2O2-sensitivity of the moonlighting enzyme glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH). In 2015, he earned his Dr. rer nat in biochemistry (DSc/PhD) from the DKFZ and the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg. Shortly before his doctoral defense, he joined Wiley-VCH in 2014 as an Assistant Editor for both ChemMedChem and ChemistryOpen.

Scott Williams, Senior Associate Editor, studied biochemistry and cell biology at the University of California, San Diego (BSc 1993). In 2000 he earned his PhD in chemistry at the University of Utah (Salt Lake City, USA) in the research group of Sheila David, where he studied the reaction mechanisms of DNA repair enzymes. He spent a year teaching chemistry at the University of Alaska in Anchorage and a few years in private-sector R&D with companies involved in assay development and highly parallel DNA sequencing technologies. He joined Wiley-VCH in November 2004 as an Assistant Editor with Angewandte Chemie. In mid-2005 he joined ChemMedChem as an Associate Editor, and has been with the journal since its launch

Lisa Abel, Managing Editor, studied chemistry and French at the Universities of Sussex (UK) and Nantes (France; BSc 1991), followed by an MSc in Science and Technology Policy at the Science Policy Research Unit (Sussex). After working for a few years in London, she returned to Sussex to study for an MSc in medicinal chemistry with Jim Hanson (1998). She joined Wiley-VCH in May 2000 as an Editorial Assistant for Chemistry—A European Journal, before becoming Managing Editor of ChemBioChem in 2003, then also of ChemMedChem from its inception.

Peter Gölitz, Founding Editor, has been the Editor-in-Chief of Angewandte Chemie since 1982. He joined the publishers in 1980 after he earned his PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Göttingen (Germany) with Professor Armin de Meijere in 1978 and spent time as a postdoc at IBM in San José, CA (USA) and the University of Hamburg (Germany). He is the Founding Editor of Advanced Materials, Chemistry—A European Journal, ChemBioChem, Chemistry—An Asian Journal, and ChemMedChem, among others.
