Overview


Performance Improvement journal presents the latest thinking, tools, and approaches for improving individual and organizational performance from leading practitioners and researchers in the field. Contributors explore a powerful and systematic approach for improving productivity and competence called performance technology. This approach starts with the idea that to create lasting improvement in an organization you must focus on the whole system—integrating work, worker, and workplace. Only in the pages of PI will you find the latest research and insights on ways to make improvements in performance —on both the individual and organizational level—measure these improvements, and then build on them to maximize the entire performance system.

Performance Improvement journal is publication of the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI). Founded in 1962, ISPI is the leading international association dedicated to improving productivity and performance in the workplace. ISPI represents performance improvement professionals throughout the United States, Canada, and 40 other countries. ISPI's mission is to develop and recognize the proficiency of our members and advocate the use of Human Performance Technology. Assembling the Performance Improvement Conference and other educational events like Principles & Practices, publishing books and periodicals, and supporting research are some of the ways ISPI works toward achieving this mission. Aims and Scope


Performance Improvement is committed to presenting multiple voices and multiple perspectives related to the practice of human performance technology (HPT). Published 10 times per year, the journal is geared toward practitioners of performance technology in the workplace and strives to provide specific guidelines on applications of performance technology to help readers expand and understand their scope of HPT.

Performance Improvement deals with all types of interventions and all phases of the HPT process. It includes “how to” articles, procedural models, ready-to-use job aides, guidelines for research, updates on trends, reviews, and field viewpoints.

Performance Improvement is a publication of the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI).
