Mission Statement

Aims and Scope

Cytoskeleton publishes original research articles on all aspects of the cytoskeleton, including cellular, biochemical, biophysical, genetic, structural and mathematical and theoretical investigations.  Cytoskeleton is interested in work that covers such topics as the cytoskeleton in development; in emerging model organisms and in prokaryotic cells; the neuronal cytoskeleton; molecular motor proteins; structural studies of polymer systems including both conventional and unconventional polymers; interactions of the cytoskeleton with other organelles and cellular components.  The journal is published in 12 issues annually, and special issues will be dedicated to especially-active or newly-emerging areas of cytoskeletal research.

Cytoskeleton serves as a venue for the rapid and fair evaluation of manuscripts, leading to the publication of high-quality articles that advance the cytoskeleton field. The journal welcomes submission of research papers, short reports, reviews, mini-reviews, commentaries, and techniques.

Mission Statement: Cytoskeleton

Cytoskeleton seeks to advance the field of research on the cytoskeleton by publication of research papers, reviews, and commentary that document new findings.  Cytoskeleton is interested in all areas of research that are related to the cytoskeleton, especially new and emerging areas.

Research topics include, but are not limited to:

Polymer assembly and dynamics

Cytoskeleton in emerging model organisms

Evolutionary cell biology of the cytoskeleton

Bacterial cytoskeletal polymers

Modeling the cytoskeleton

Biophysics of motor proteins and polymers

Neuronal cytoskeleton

Organelle dynamics and the cytoskeleton

Membrane cytoskeleton interactions
