New Editor-in-Chief for 2015
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Marc G. Genton as the next Editor-in-Chief of Stat, the ISI online journal for rapid dissemination of statistics research. Marc’s term is from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2017.
Marc Genton is Professor of Statistics in the Division of Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Sciences and Engineering at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). He received his Ph.D. in Statistics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Lausanne, in 1996. He also holds a M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics teaching and a degree of Applied Mathematics Engineer from the same institution.
Marc is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association, Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and elected member of the International Statistical Institute. He received the El-Shaarawi Award for Excellence from The International Environmetrics Society in 2010. He also received the Distinguished Achievement award from the Section on Statistics and the Environment of the American Statistical Association in the same year. Marc has published over 170 articles in scientific journals, has edited a book on multivariate skew-elliptical distributions, and has given over 280 presentations at conferences and universities worldwide.
Stat is the ISI’s journal for rapid dissemination of Statistics research results. A key feature of Stat is speed to publication: there is a single pass, high quality review process that aims to publish acceptable articles within 30 days of submission. There is no revision cycle.
