This special section contains a selection of papers presented at the AGU Chapman Conference on Long-Term Sea Level held in Snowbird, Utah, April 17th, 1989. The conference was convened by Dork Sahagian and Anthony Watts and was attended by a group of researchers active in a wide range of subjects dealing both with causes and expressions of sea level change.
