German National Academy of Sciences
Matthias Driess (Technische Universität Berlin, Germany) was recently elected to the German National Academy of Sciences (Deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina). Driess was educated at the universities of Heidelberg in Germany and Madison-Wisconsin in the USA. His research focuses on organometallic chemistry and his most recent publications in ChemPlusChem describe indium and gallium oxides as optoelectronic materials for application as field-effect transistors and heterobimetallic single-source precursors used to conveniently synthesize ternary Zn/Sn/O systems. Driess is one of the three Co-chairmen of ChemPlusChem and is spokesperson for the “Unifying Concepts in Catalysis”(UniCat) Cluster of Excellence.
