ChemPlusChem 11/2013: Morph into One
In the cover article, Andrew Pearson and Anthony O'Mullane apply CuTCNQ and AgTCNQ as materials for the electrochemical deposition of precious metals and the catalysis applications of these metal nanoparticle materials for reduction of toxic CrVI to CrIII. In a Communication, Thomas Wirth et al. describe the enzymatic synthesis of terpenes by a biphasic continuous flow technique to be twofold more efficient compared with batch synthesis. In the Full Papers section, Hiroaki Imai et al. report a new route for preparation of LiCoO2 mesocrystals through topotactic transformation from two types of precursors with different morphologies. The formation of such complex metal oxide mesocrystals is quite unusual and the authors show that these mesocrystals exhibit excellent electrochemical performance. Rob Liskamp et al. describe a microarray–based assay for the monitoring of protein tyrosine phosphatase activity using nitrotyrosine–recognizing antibodies and its usefulness for inhibitor screening and activity measurement.
