Virtual Issue: Environmental Policy, Regulation, and Governance - Introduction by Nives Dolšak & Aseem Prakash

This virtual symposium showcases PAR articles that have made important contributions to the study of environmental policy, regulation, and governance. These articles reflect the sustained interest among scholars and practitioners in understanding the drivers, design, and efficacy of environmental policy instruments, and organizational-level factors that allow regulators to implement them. They reveal how environmental policy epitomizes broader trends in public policy in terms of new regulatory approaches, initiatives and mechanisms (Caldwell, 1963). Viewed this way, environmental policy scholarship has contributed not only to our understanding of a specific substantive area, but also to the broader concerns to scholars of public policy and administration.
