Virtual Special Issue on B-Glucan and Anti-Fungal Immunity


This Virtual Issue features a selection of nine previously published articles in Microbiology and Immunology, which focused on anti-fungus response, especially on the interaction of fungus-derived molecules with immune cells. This interaction plays important roles in anti-fungus immune response. Four articles analyzed the characteristics of β-glucan, a major component of fungus cell walls. Three articles investigated anti-candida response, including those focusing on candida-derived molecules, sap2 and farnesol. Two others elucidated the immune response mechanisms against other fungal pathogens, Penicillium marneffei conidia and Cryoticoccus neoformans. These articles will provide valuable and helpful information for the future works in the related fields.
