Virtual Issue - Insect Ecology - Nov 2011
We are proud to present this virtual issue, compiled from the diverse range of papers published recently in Ecological Entomology. The aim of Ecological Entomology is to publish high quality laboratory, field and theoretical research papers that will be of wide interest to the community of insect ecologists. We encourage papers that use experimental approaches to provide new insights. Particularly welcomed are submissions on evolutionary ecology, population dynamics, behavioural ecology, invasive species and community ecology. We also encourage papers on insect/plant and host/parasite interactions, as well as predator/prey associations. Articles are published as short communications, original research papers and invited reviews. This virtual issue covers a range of topics relating to insect ecology, from speciation to behaviour and from metapopulation theory to methodological comparisons of field studies. During 2010, Ecological Entomology published a supplementary issue on “Insect evolution below the species level” to commemorate the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Darwin. Some of the articles in this virtual issue are taken from this special supplement.
