The new Journal of Applied Microbiology Annual Lecture is Online

The DSF family of bacterial cell-cell signal molecules

Guest speaker Dr Max Dow presented the annual Journal of Applied Microbiology Lecture at the 2016 SfAM Conference.

The ability of pathogenic bacteria to cause disease depends upon the production of virulence determinants whose synthesis is strictly regulated as an adaptation to particular environmental changes. A greater understanding of these regulatory processes at the molecular level may reveal potential targets for interference and hence intervention in the disease process through the action of new antimicrobial drugs.
