On Monday, 30 June, the Annual Journal of Applied Microbiology Lecture was held at the SfAM Conference in Brighton.

The lecture was presented by Professor George Macfarlane, University of Dundee, on the topic 'Bacterial metabolism in the large intestine and its consequences for the host'.
