Virtual Issue: Pharmacogenetics and Personalised Medicine

Most drugs are effective in only a proportion of patients and a drug, safe for most patients, can be potentially lethal for a few. Pharmacogenetics research aims to identify genetic markers that are useful for identifying the more likely responders. Individualising treatment based on personal biomarkers such as genetic polymorphisms is referred to as personalised medicine. In this virtual issue we highlight some of the recent developments in pharmacogenetics and personalised medicine by highlighting some recent articles published in the Journal Of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics (Please also see latest Editorial).
