Journal of Neuroendocrinology

This special issue celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Journal. It comprises an anthology of short reviews which highlight some, but by no means all, of the major advances that have occurred since the Journal’s inception; in addition, it considers some earlier landmark studies. In many cases the authors have provided a personal perspective on the work and highlighted difficulties that had to be overcome to take the field forward. We hope that the contents of this issue will be of interest to both specialists and generalists and that, in particular, they will be of value to young scientists entering our specialist field.
