Virtual Issue - Diseases of grapevine diversity, dynamics and control

This virtual issue of Plant Pathology contains a review and fourteen original articles on fungal, bacterial, viral and nematode diseases of grapevine. These diseases are of global importance and have a significant impact on quality and yield of grapes. The work includes a review on the complexity of grapevine trunk diseases, followed by a number of articles that highlight the means by which some specific pathogens of grapevine are spread and the diversity that occurs within pathogen species. There are finally three articles demonstrating approaches for control of grapevine diseases. We hope that bringing these papers together into a single virtual issue will help to highlight the significant recent research on these pathogens, and provide a valuable resource.
