Special ASM Issue: The USANZ Collection
Welcome to this special on-line only edition of the BJUI USANZ Supplement! It is a collection of carefully selected past papers, which I hope members will enjoy reading.
It is the last edition of the Supplement with Prof David Nicol as Editor. Associate Professor Nathan Lawrentschuk takes over as the new Supplement Editor from the next issue and I have no doubt, Nathan will take up the challenge of continuing the great work by David Nicol. David has left a lasting legacy as inaugural editor and members will no doubt join with me enthusiastically in recognising his outstanding contribution to USANZ research and academia.
Nathan has the drive and enthusiasm to ensure the Journal’s quality and depth of publications are maintained. Could I sound a friendly warning that members, and especially SAG leaders will be gently coaxed by Nathan to produce papers for publication. This important period of USANZ history cannot be underestimated in its quest for justified recognition on the very crowded world stage of urology. Australian and New Zealand urologists have for too long been hiding their talents under a bushel. Please support Nathan as vigorously as you can and wish him well as he continues to display his many talents.
The Journal will continue to be available in hardcopy, on-line and via the USANZ website. In time, the paper version will be phased out as members adjust to the world communicating solely electronically!
I personally congratulate those members who have already stepped up to the plate by conducting research and writing papers that have been published. Enjoy your success and please encourage others to emulate your dedication and hard work. May USANZ’ torch shine brightly.
