This collection of papers is, in the PBJ editors' view, a convenient synthesis of what has been published in the field in recent years, and a useful working basis for what is to come next.

Plant Biotechnology Journal joins the Wiley Open Access publishing program
From 2016 Plant Biotechnology Journal joins the Wiley Open Access publishing program of fully open access journals published by Wiley. All newly published articles (submitted from 1st November 2015) will be open access under the Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. All articles published by Plant Biotechnology Journal will be fully open access: immediately freely available to read, download and share. To cover the cost of publishing, Plant Biotechnology Journal charges a publication fee.
