Society Information

The Association of Art Historians was formed in 1974 to promote the study of art history. It is the national organisation for professional art historians and researchers in the field, including all those studying and working in higher education, schools, museums and galleries, and independent art and design historians. The history of art is a broad and developing field involving the study of all aspects of the visual arts, architecture, conservation, museology, photography, design, film and other media, and the membership reflects that breadth of interest.
