Society Information


The Association of Art Historians promotes the professional practice and public understanding of art history. It is a UK-based membership organisation for those with a professional commitment to, and interest in, the discipline. Formed in 1974, the AAH plays a key role at national level in helping to shape and to secure the future of the field. It provides and initiates events, publications, funding, resources and networks for the benefit of over 1500 members as well as the wider scholarly community.

Membership

Becoming an AAH member provides a platform from which one can share, widen and maximize research and ideas, and enables conversation at an institutional and organizational level. Alongside a discounted subscription price for Art History, members receive preferential rates to our annual conference and book fair as well as many other benefits. AAH membership is open to all professional art historians, researchers and students, as well as to those with an active interest in and commitment to art history.

Members’ Newsletter

Bulletin is the members’ newsletter, published three times a year. It provides information about current issues within the discipline of art history, forthcoming events, and opportunities. As well as automatically receiving Bulletin, members can access issues dating back to 1975 via the AAH website, www.aah.org.uk.

Annual Conference

The AAH annual conference is an established and respected, international event that provides a platform for current research and critical debate, bring together eminent scholars and emerging voices from the discipline of art history. Recent conferences have included a diverse array of panels, and papers and keynote lectures by leading figures from the field. To find out more, visit www.aah.org.uk.
