About the Founder and Editor-in-Chief
Hojjat Adeli is Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Geodetic Science and Lichtenstein Professor of Infrastructure Engineering at The Ohio State University. A contributor to 72 different research journals he has authored over 410 research publications, including 11 books, and edited 12 books since he received his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1976 at the age of 26. He has presented Keynote/Plenary Lectures at 57 national and international computing conferences held in 34 different countries and has organized or served on the advisory/editorial board of 260 national and international conferences held in 54 different countries. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including, the University Distinguished Scholar Award given by The Ohio State University in 1998 “in recognition of extraordinary accomplishment in research and scholarship”. He is also the quadruple-winner of the OSU College of Engineering Lumley Outstanding Research Award. In September 1998 he was awarded a United States patent for his neural dynamics model for design automation and optimization (jointly with a former Ph.D. student). In 2005 he was elected an Honorary Member of American Society of Civil Engineers “for wide-ranging, exceptional, and pioneering contributions to computing in many civil engineering disciplines and extraordinary leadership in advancing the use of computing and information technologies in civil engineering throughout the world.' He received the ASCE Construction Management Award in 2006.
