62nd Annual Political Studies Association conference
3-5 April 2012
Belfast, Northern Ireland
The 62nd Annual Conference of the Political Studies Association will be hosted by the University of Ulster. The conference will be held in and around Belfast city centre, including the vibrant Cathedral Quarter. This area of Belfast has a rich historical and political character, and is packed with fascinating architecture. The Cathedral Quarter is full of artistic spaces, cosy bars and trendy nightclubs. In the 19th century and early 20th century it was a popular site for citizens of the city to engage in spontaneous and lively debate on the political issues of the day, making it an ideal location for this year's conference - In Defence of Politics.
New Editorial Team
On 1st July, 2011, editorship of Political Studies moved to a new team based in the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham. The team will provide an excellent service to authors: rapid turn around times, early publication online and publicity for the most impactful work. As well as being committed to publishing the very best stand-alone papers, we are also interested in proposals for ‘special sections’ which may bring together papers around a particular theme or issue. Our one criterion is academic excellence. We aim to be the journal of choice for really first-rate academic work from any part of our diverse discipline and from across the globe. Have your Say! Political Insight
For the next two weeks, we are asking readers of the Political Studies Association journals to complete a short survey about Political Insight. The survey will be used by the editorial team for Political Insight to inform discussion about the future development of the journal. We would really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to answer these brief questions to the best of your ability. Your answers will be reported anonymously unless agreed otherwise.
All respondents will be entered into a free draw to win one of three prizes of £75 of Wiley-Blackwell books! The closing date of the survey is 22nd February 2012, and the winners will be chosen at random on 29th February 2012.
