Ratio publishes high-quality work on a wide variety of topics within analytic philosophy. It encourages articles that meet the highest standards of philosophical rigour while at the same time remaining accessible to readers from a broad range of philosophical disciplines. The Special Issue Book Series is based on the proceedings of the annual Ratio One-day Conference held at the University of Reading.

Every year the Philosophy Department at the University of Reading holds a one-day Ratio conference followed by a wine reception.

The 2012 conference took place on Friday April 20th on the topic of Irrealism in Ethics. Details for the 2013 conference will be announced soon.

Developing Deonotology

Developing Deontology consists of six new essays in ethical theory by leading contemporary moral philosophers. Each essay considers concepts prominent in the development of deontological approaches to ethics, and these essays offer an invaluable contribution to that development.

After more than twenty years' excellent service for the journal, Professor John Cottingham will be passing the Editorship of Ratio on at the end of 2012. The December 2012 issue will be the last to be published under his name.

David Oderberg

The new Editor, Professor David Oderberg, is considering submissions for future issues of the journal.
