The data used in this paper are from the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE). The ASHE data (for 1997-2008) were made available by the Office for National Statistics, through the Low Pay Commission, and have been used by permission. These data can only be provided by the Office for National Statistics.

The file samplesetup.txt provided here contains Stata commands to set up the sample and log(wage) variable used in the paper.
