Recent Special Issue in Honour of Maria Concetta Chiuri

This Special Issue of Labour is in memoriam of Maria Concetta (Etta) Chiuri. To honour and remember Etta as an economist and as person, the Department of Economics and Mathematics of the University of Bari, in cooperation with the Centre for Household, Income, Labour and Demographic economics (CHILD), the Centre for Studies in Economics and Finance (CSEF) and the Associazione Italiana degli Economisti del Lavoro (AIEL) organized a conference in Bari and Tricase (her hometown). During the sessions of the conference Etta's research was continuously cited as well as her influence on students and younger researchers.Our special issue includes seven papers (six were selected among the papers presented in the conference) on her topics of interest: household economics, migration and taxation. LABOUR Prize
At the recent Fourth Italian Congress of Econometrics and Empirical Economics (ICEEE 2011, 19th-21st January, Faculty of Economics of the University of Pisa, Italy), the LABOUR Prize for the best paper in Theoretical or Applied Microeconometrics written by young scientists (less than 4 years from PhD completion) was awarded to Sarolta Laczó (PhD, Toulouse 2009) for her paper on "Estimating dynamic contracts: Risk sharing in village economies."
