Christopher Bennett teaches philosophy at the University of Sheffield. His interests are in moral, political and legal philosophy, in particular criminal law and criminal justice, and the nature of blame and retribution. He is also interested in issues in moral psychology, and the history of philosophy.
He has published articles in journals such as the Philosophical Quarterly, European Journal of Philosophy, Ratio, the Journal of Applied Philosophy, Oxford Journal of Legal Studies and Ohio State Journal of Criminal Law. His book The Apology Ritual is published by Cambridge University Press. He also has an introductory book, What Is This Thing Called Ethics?, published with Routledge.
